The One with the Entertainment Unit
I have a cat. Her name is Toulouse. Quite often, I'm a bad mom in failing to mention my cat as much as I speak of my dog children.
This post (and the last 48h of my time at home) are dedicated to Toulouse, a dear member of the clan: the original fur-baby who has been my sidekick for the past 10 years.
Despite the fact that Toulouse was raised in a house with two dogs (I grew up with two canines at home - Champ and Cookie: may you be resting in doggy heaven), she has had a hard time adapting to the equivalent behaviour of children in their "terrible two" phase of life. The general curiosity Kami and Leo had towards her during their first few months were a bit overwhelming for my dear cat. She took it hard and shrunk a bit in size.. and she sort pulled a Houdini and started disappearing only to make appearances when and where least expected. Currently, she is under our bed - candid shot below. Please don't mind the bad photo; this isn't her best angle.
The dogs are quite tame now and leave her alone (mostly because neither of them can fit under the bed anymore). One thing they are able to get to however are her litterbox and its contents, which are hijacked daily by Kami's snout.
The lady needs some privacy.

So, I decided that Toulouse deserved her own little powder (litter) room. I built her a private chest! This project was purely all for Toulouse and zero to build pretty rustic furniture with recycled barn wood. It was fun. I was almost never clumsy and the worst injury I got was a bad sunburn on my back.
Tah-dah!!!!
I'm quite pleased with it. I mean.. it’s big. One might even say it’s bulky and takes up too much space for a litter box.. but who doesn’t like a big bathroom?
Once my masterpiece was completed, I proudly shared a few photos with my family. After receiving a few “oh woooow good job Tam” (my work is wow-worthy!!!), my sister discretely slipped in a YouTube link; “Your chest reminds me of that time Joey tried to build an entire entertainment unit to have a place for the mail” (*side note: my sister and I speak in Friends lingo and references almost always. Non-friends sometimes have a hard time understanding us*. Since I want you all to not be non-friends, here is the link.

And now, friends, I can officially create a D.I.Y. Pinterest board.
